India’s home-grown burger brand Burger Singh isn’t just growing—it’s rewriting the rules of QSR success
IN A MARKET long dominated by Western fast-food giants, Burger Singh is carving out a deliciously Indian path—one that’s both flavourful and financially sound. Since launching in 2014, the brand has grown from a bold idea to India’s largest homegrown burger chain with 185+ outlets across 75+ cities. And according to its Founder & CEO, Kabir Jeet Singh, this is just the beginning.
“I wasn't trying to replicate a Western brand in India,” Singh says. “We built this for India, from day one—with local flavours, Indian price points, and backend systems that could scale.”
That vision is now scaling at a rapid clip. In the last three years alone, Burger Singh has grown from 60 outlets to more than 180, while revenue has nearly quadrupled. But what sets it apart in India’s cutthroat quick service restaurant (QSR) market is that it’s doing so without burning cash. “We're a franchise-first business. Capital efficiency is in our DNA,” Singh explains.
Going Deep, Not Just Wide
While many brands chase metro glory, Burger Singh saw promise in smaller towns long before it became a trend. “We don’t follow trends—we follow profit,” Singh declares. “Some of our top stores are in places like Bhavna-gar, Jabalpur, and Bhagalpur. That tells you everything.”
