BMW's new head-up display envisions a future without dashboards and distractions

Modern cars have replaced traditional dashboards with screens that display a plethora of information. However, all these screens require the driver to take their eyes off the road to absorb the information. Some cars have headup displays which project information onto a transparent screen directly in the line of sight. This is usually a small screen that can only display a handful of information. However, cars of the future may be able to offer a lot more by projecting directly onto the windscreen.
