WHAT TO DO WHEN A SLIDE-OUT STEP STOPS WORKING

Q We have an electrically operated slide-out step on our 2018 van conversion and it appears to have stopped working - nothing happens when we press the rocker switch. I’ve checked what I think is the correct fuse and that all seems to be okay. Is there anything you can advise before we take the ’van to a workshop?

First of all, when checking fuses use a multimeter to establish if they're good or not, they can often look OK visibly but still be open circuit.
