Design updates for Cat® medium wheel loaders
Earthmoving Equipment Magazine
|December 2024 - January 2025
Caterpillar product application specialist Dick Mars details the latest technology and performance updates to the line of new Cat® Next Generation medium wheel loaders.

The updated designs are aimed at increasing productivity and operating ease.
For example, the new auto front differential lock engages the differential lock to recover or maintain traction.
"Additionally, upgrades to both auto front and rear differential locks are options for the wheel loaders," Dick said.
Currently, the auto lock is available on all 950 to 972 models with joystick steering as well as all 966 to 972 models with HMU (steering wheel) steering.
These medium wheel loaders feature improvements to the integrated braking system (IBS) and new engine RPM deceleration.
"In addition, the new transmission neutraliser features smooth engagement and disengagement with the IBS pedal," Dick said.
There is also refined technology.
"Caterpillar will release its new "Payload for Trade" that can be integrated into the Advanced Payload feature," Dick said.
"The system will be certified, and after calibration and verification will weigh material with a very high level of accuracy as well as support Caterpillar's new e-ticket reporting option.
"The system can be completely programmed with materials and truck IDs to facilitate customers specific needs in our productivity app or on the machine directly.
"Caterpillar has also developed a new standard job-aid widget that helps the operator in load-and-carry operations by automatically placing the bucket at the optimal height for stability and maximum material retention.Bu hikaye Earthmoving Equipment Magazine dergisinin December 2024 - January 2025 baskısından alınmıştır.
