The Renault Triber has been refreshed, giving the popular budget three-row offering a revitalised persona and a lot more equipment to go with the new face Story: Jim Gorde Photography: Sanjay Raikar FINDING A CAR ON A budget is easy.
Finding a good car that is comfortable, practical, and decently equipped, within one's budget, however, is a whole different challenge. Thankfully, the Renault Triber is something that ticks many boxes for someone looking for their first car for a family, and a big one at that.
The Triber was a somewhat unique and rather innovative car when it first arrived, and, almost a decade later, its refreshed form has retained the winning formula and brought in some additional goodies as well. Ergonomics are good as ever, as are comfort and space. The pliant ride remains as well, and so does the flat smart key-card that offers true keyless proximity unlock, start, stop, and lock functions, unlike many other cars even today. And that's just the start.
Design-wise, the updated Triber looks properly refreshed. There are many elements from the bold new grille and wider apron, a new two-dimensional Renault diamond logo, LED headlight elements, and a bold new taillight setup, as well as new colours. These are complemented by new 15-inch alloy wheels with high-profile 185/65 rubber, black roof-rails, and chunky side cladding on the doors. The ground clearance is a pretty high 182 millimetres, which makes for stress-free motoring over all sorts of surfaces and post-monsoon no-road conditions.
