Memories to Cherish for a Lifetime

TVS invited us for a unique experience at Gujarat's most famous tourist destination: the Rann of Kutch.

Loosely translated from the original Hindi, the word “rann” means a flat, white, arid expanse of land

THE RANN OF KUTCH IS ONE OF THE country's more well-known tourist destinations both for foreigners and Indians. Gujarat is also known for its amazing roads and hence it is a popular place among bikers.

In 2005, the first edition of the “Rann Utsav” was held for three days. Owing to the tourists' overwhelming response it was held for two to three months from the following year. Now the event is held from November to the end of February, sometimes with tourists arriving earlier in October to escape large crowds. This is Gujarat Tourism's largest and laudable venture, because of which the Rann of Kutch is now on the world's map of dream destinations. Naturally, I was eagerly looking forward to visiting the place.

The event got under way with everyone receiving a media kit (or a “goodie bag”, as I would call it). Among other TVS-branded merchandise, it also consisted of a T-shirt with “Rann Ke Rang” printed on it above a silhouette of a TVS Ronin motorcycle. Following a quick briefing, we left for the “Rann Utsav”.
