The rivalry between the BMW 3 Series and Mercedes C-Class has always been vindaloo-hot, but this year it's getting turned up to phaal proportions. Both the executive saloons will go electric for the first time - each offering around 500 miles of range - and will reinterpret design cues from their makers' back catalogues.
