Lightning Cat is poised to leap into the UK's electric saloon market

Great Wall Motor, maker of the Ora 03 EV (formerly known as Funky Cat), is adding a second model to its UK line-up later this year: the 07 saloon, which is meant to take on the likes of the BYD Seal and Tesla Model 3.

The 07 is expected to be priced from £35,000, offering a 64kWh lithium-iron-phosphate battery in Pure and Pro trims and a 83kWh nickel-manganese-cobalt pack in Pro+ and GT versions. It is claimed to be capable of delivering up to 354 miles per charge, which is in Model 3 Long Range territory.
