The Urus is, to start off, a supercar in the guise of an SUV. And then the engineers have added a bit more power to the beast, cut some flab, given it some additional gizmos including an all-new Rally mode and badged it Performante. The look of the SUV has also been changed to echo its performance badging though the lower stance, wider track and spring suspension all have to do more with its performance than its looks. The fair bit of carbon fibre on the exteriors is in aid of not only its looks but also its lighter weight that has gone down by a substantial 47kg.
To show that the additional badging is justified, Lamborghini has taken the Urus Performante to Pikes Peak and smashed the existing record for SUVs on the legendary hill run by, in racing parlance, a massive 10 seconds.
