Aprilia's SR 175 doesn't believe in half measures. It's a scooter with brisk performance, sharp handling and that signature Italian flair. It's here to prove scooters can stir the soul

APRILIA SR 175

It's not often that a scooter gets me excited for a test. That being said, we aren't talking about just any ordinary scooter. That's because the Aprilia SR 175 hp-e isn't your usual point-A-to-B machine. It's a reminder that practicality doesn't have to be boring and that performance can exist even in a compact, automatic package. Aprilia's latest offering brings a bigger motor, fresher features and a design that screams intent. All of this is aimed at riders who prefer a bit of attitude with their daily rides. It's meant to be bold, confident and unapologetically sporty, just the way an Aprilia should be. The real question is, does it live up to its badge once the road opens up?

The SR 175 looks every bit as athletic as its nameplate suggests. It's sharp, taut and loaded with visual muscle. The front apron is dominated by an LED headlamp with striking DRL signatures, while the side panels flow neatly into the tail, creating a cohesive, racy profile. The stance is purposeful, thanks to those wide 14-inch alloys that fill the arches well and lend a planted, ready-to-pounce posture. The new colour palette adds depth to the form: deep matte shades, bright accents and subtle branding that feels premium without shouting for attention.

imageIt's a scooter that turns heads in traffic but does so with confidence rather than gimmickry.

Build quality is solid, which is the case with other Aprilia products; panels align cleanly, switches have a reassuring click, and even the seat stitching feels well-executed. There are a total of three colour options, and I personally loved the Matte Prismatic Dark colour scheme. The Glossy White Tech doesn't look too bad either, but if you're a MotoGP fan, the GP Replica should be the pick of the lot.
