BIRDSVILLE TRACK DUE TO REOPEN (SA)
It's hard to believe the famed Birdsville Track - a lifeline for locals and travellers alike – has been closed for so long. Many lay the blame on the SA Government's slow handling of the situation, but hopefully by the time you read this the route will be open.
A new ferry is set to begin operation, allowing travellers with vans - and locals moving cattle - to make use of the upgraded service. We're waiting with bated breath.
RED DUST REVIVAL (WA)
Be quick - this year's Lake Perkolilli Red Dust Revival runs from 29 September to 5 October. Australia's foremost outback historic motorsport event will feature more than 250 cars and motorcycles from the golden years of racing - 1914 to 1939.
