The Brooklyn apartment of Mark Grattan is a seductive laboratory for his own finely crafted creations
AD100 DESIGNER MARK GRATTAN (DRESSED IN A PALOMO COAT, DIOR SHORTS, AND CHRISTIAN LOUBOUTIN SHOES) KICKS BACK AT HIS BROOKLYN HOME, WHERE THE LEOPARD-PRINTED LOUNGE IS LINED IN ÉLITIS WALLPAPER AND OUTFITTED WITH FURNISHINGS OF HIS OWN MAKING; ARTWORKS BY CLIFFORD PRINCE KING AND (REFLECTED IN MIRROR) CHINEDU VICTOR.
FASHION STYLING BY TIFFANI WILLIAMS. OPPOSITE THE LOUNGE’S CUSTOM TABLE IS TOPPED WITH NERO MARQUINA MARBLE FROM ABC STONE; FLORAL DESIGN BY OLIVEE FLORAL.
IT’S A SUNNY, unseasonably warm morning in early March and Amiga, Mark Grattan's Himalayan cat, is vibing. One moment, she's splayed across the marquetry top of the dining table. Another, she's nuzzling against the plush pile of a moiré-patterned rug or bounding across the platform bed, the lacquered frame of which appears to melt into the floor. “It's her apartment,” Grattan says. True. But it's his world. On the top floor of a Brooklyn brownstone, the AD100 iconoclast has realized an immersive feat of contemporary design—and by hand no less.
IN THE DINING ROOM, A NAIMA GREEN PHOTOGRAPH HANGS ABOVE A GRATTANDESIGNED CHEST OF DRAWERS THAT WAS LACQUERED BY AUCAPINA CABINETS: PULLS BY H. THEOPHILE; ROSE UNIACKE LAMP FROM R HUGHES. OPPOSITE GRATTAN'S CAT, AMIGA, IN THE BEDROOM, WHERE A BED FROM GRATTAN'S THICK SERIES SITS ON A RUG FROM HIS NEW C'EST GADA LINE; CHANDELIER BY FLOS, TRACK LIGHTING BY JUNIPER, CEILING WALLPAPER BY ÉLITIS, AND COVERLET BY MIA FLANAGAN.Bu hikaye Architectural Digest US dergisinin May 2026 baskısından alınmıştır.
