Scrooge experiences a life changing shock

Yet again the Season of Goodwill was approaching and as usual Scrooge reflected on the previous year's savings and thought hard about new ways to save money.

How different the weather had been this year. After the previous very wet summer, he thought he had wasted his money on water butts and cheap surplus opaque tanks but this year had proved him wrong. The area hosepipe ban hadn't affected him as he used collected rainwater. He had saved money on water costs and made watering his crops easier despite the drought. They had grown well and helped fill his larder with free food. He might even get a higher price for any surplus. With such unpredictable weather, he might even buy some more water storage!
