CHINESE rider Kingsley Shu, 25, made an impressive debut at intermediate level when she won an open intermediate (OI) on Rossmount Blue News and finished third in the other OI on Diabolo D’Ems AA.

“I’m trying to get as much experience as possible to prepare for the Asian Games in Tokyo in September,” said Kingsley, explaining that the dressage and showjumping at the Asian Games this year will be at three-star rather than two-star for the first time, with the cross-country still at two-star.

Rossmount Blue News was bought from Katie Bleloch and Diabolo D’Ems AA from France’s Martin Denisot – both are co-owned by Kingsley and Emilie Gu and have also been competed by Kingsley’s trainer Lizzie Baugh, with whom she’s been based for two years.
