‘It’s nice to have a joint win’

LASHING wind and rain did nothing to dampen competition in the Socks By Ruby Diamond Championship qualifier, in which Phoebe Sealey (Amelusina II) and Zoe Coombes (Chamora S) tied for first place on 37.39sec.

They had just a 0.09sec advantage over third-placed Tilly Fuller (Billy K2), round a jump-off track where you had to pull off all the turns to be in with a shout of victory.

“Phoebe had jumped right before me and I saw what she had done, and thought I’d go for it and do every turn I possibly could,” said Zoe.

Phoebe added: “Zoe’s a friend, so it was nice to have a joint win with her.”
