Each year, Australians waste approximately 7.3 million tonnes of food contributing more than five per cent of the country’s greenhouse gas emissions. It might sound like a massive issue to tackle, but it’s doable in small steps, like starting to compost scraps in your home.

“Creating soil is an act of reparation and something that we all can do. Closing the loop of our own waste is a powerful thing,” say Plants Of Power authors Stacey Demarco and Miranda Mueller.
