He was the runner-up to will Young in the first series of Pop Idol in 2002, but singer Gareth Gates went on to sell millions of records worldwide. In recent years he’s appeared on stage in shows including Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and is currently starring in Footloose: The Musical. The 33-year-old, who lives in west London, has a daughter missy, eight, and is dating Coronation Street actress Faye Brookes.
