Blush has found its way into every woman’s make-up kit, whether a beauty buff or a novice. It makes your skin look alive, healthier and if applied strategically, it can even make you look younger. And the much awaited V-Day right around the corner makes it the perfect occasion to flaunt your best flush.

The key to finding the perfect blush lies in snagging the right colour and formula. And, to make the right choice in both these departments, one must first recognise their skin tone and type.

Understanding tone and type

Skin undertones can be broadly classified as cool and warm. Warm-toned individuals have a yellowish/ golden tinge to their skin while cool tones ones have bluish undertones. If you’re still confused, all you have to do is examine the colour of the veins running on the underside of your wrist. Blue veins mean you’re cool toned, green ones mean you’re most likely to be warm/olive toned and a mixture of both means that you fall right in between, i.e., neutral.
