Holds Great Promise To Make Food The New Tourism Thrust!

- Armando Gonsalves

Taste Of Goa 2019

THE Taste of Goa is deeply rooted in the subtler things that Goa stands for, and even though it may primarily be a food related, its raison d’tre is about the things that can make Goa stand out like she did many years ago. With tourism footfalls having fallen desperately over the years, and with good quality tourists hardly arriving, there has to be a thrust to reposition our beautiful land on a higher pedestal than it has been over the past decade.

When we first met up in London in the year 2014, so much energy was expended when Master Chef Cyrus Todiwala hosted the Taste of Goa event at his restaurant, the Assado at Waterloo. That event was attended by high profile visitors which included the then Minister Of Justice in the British Cabinet, Mr Simon Hughes, various Goan origin people that included Ricardo de Souza, owner of Tito’s Goa, Portuguese Nationals that included well known social entrepreneur Mr Helder Falcao and yours truly, amongst others.
