[ SOCIAL ] KAMP-MAL BIRTHDAY WEEKEND AT MBIZI GAME LODGE

At our first birthday camp in 2017, Kamp-Mal had about 100 000 “members”. This year, we celebrated our second birthday at Mbizi, and I am proud to say that our group now has more than 160 000 members.

There’s no word that can reflect the excitement I felt preparing for our 2018 birthday camping weekend.

It kicked into gear when Vivian Torlage and Johan Greyling from Conqueror Midrand pulled up on a Wednesday, to drop off a Ford Ranger 2.2 with a Commander in tow. My excitement grew as I drove the Ranger home, north on the N1 to Petoorsdorp.

That evening, as we packed the caravan, my wife smiled and said: “This weekend, we are going to camp like kings with this impressive caravan!”

Unfortunately, the weekend was still a few days away, and sitting in traffic the next day to get to work was tough. But when Nardus Venter pulled up in his WJ Elite motorhome at Ford Fury Midrand (the home of Kamp-Mal), everyone knew that soon the camping festivities would begin.

It wasn’t long before the Elite headed out on the N1, and didn’t stop until it had been parked at our destination for the weekend: Mbizi Game Lodge.
