Celebrating its 75th anniversary has nothing to do with Sennheiser treating audiophiles with their signature sound, in a smaller form

TESTED SENNHEISER MOMENTUM TRUE WIRELESS 2

Form factor wise, the Momentum True Wireless 2 are on par with the Jabra, Sony or Samsung options, but their metal end caps give them a more premium and purposeful look. The big difference between these and the earlier gen model is the addition of active noise cancellation (ANC) and a battery jump from 8hrs to a frankly insane 28hrs!

Included in the box are three pairs of extra ear tips. They provide a high level of passive sealing, so the ANC is just a massive bonus that’ll come in handy in the noisiest of environs. There is a transparency mode but you cannot control the level of ambient noise seeping in like some of the competition models.

Sennheiser has managed to offer a full suite of touch controls on either L/R earpod to do everything from toggle between ANC and Transparency modes, track and volume changes, bringing up Siri or Google Assistant and more! These can be customised through the rather spartan Smart Control app.

From the first few seconds of the panned guitar on WhoMadeWho by Ember, they capture your attention and force you to stop what you’re doing and just... listen! The delivery is smooth and linear, making for a sound that is instantly likeable without leaving room for subjectivity.

It doesn’t have much smarts in the way of pairing or switching between devices, so if you use multiple devices through the day, you will have to disconnect the TW2 from one to connect to the other. Not 2020.
