Rushworth upstaged as Fisher reels Durham in

Chester-le-Street’s stalwart Chris Rushworth claimed his 500th first-class scalp by removing Tom Kohler-Cadmore, further enhancing his reputation as one of great seamers on the county circuit.

But even he was powerless as Matthew Fisher produced a new ball spell that Rushworth would be proud of – sparking a collapse in the Durham line-up and paving the way for victory.

James Franklin’s men had managed to bounce back after being bowled out for 103 on the first day. Ben Coad (4-23) and Jordan Thompson (3-16) shared seven wickets to skittle the hosts. However, Durham responded by bowling out the White Rose for 199, although the visitors were still in command of the game with a 96-run first-innings lead.
