Nurture Zak And He Will Spark England's Attack

ZAK Crawley has been tipped as the solution to England’s top order issues but his Kent coach has warned against throwing him in too early.

The 21-year-old right-hander underlined his undoubted potential again on Friday night with a stunning 89 off just 55 balls in the Blast, albeit ending on the losing team as the rest of his Kent side failed to provide much support.
Crawley has been similarly effective in the County Championship, scoring two centuries and a further four half-centuries in ten matches in his first season of Division One action.
However Matt Walker, the Kent head coach, has cautioned against promoting Crawley too early and risk burning out a player with the potential to play on the international stage for a decade.
Walker said: “I think it’s worth remembering that it’s his first season in Division One. I think like every player that gets picked for England, you want it be to be the right time.
