Hi Natasha! Thanks for sharing your story and love for all things bikes with us. How long have you been racing BMX? Tell us about how you got into BMX.
Natasha: We were camping with friends when I was six and one of the older boys had a BMX bike. I kept borrowing it all weekend. When we got back into the city my parents knew nothing about BMX but took me out to Ridge Meadows track for a night of racing to see what it was all about. I decided I wanted to try it. It looked fun. That was six years ago. I did the Club Coaching for the rest of that season and started racing the following year.
What was it about racing that you really enjoyed and decided to pursue it more competitively?
Natasha: I loved going fast and developing my skills, especially jumping. My BMX skills made me more comfortable trying other types of riding. Being at the track either for a regular race, local practice or big national weekend, what do you enjoy most about spending time on your bike at these events? Definitely hanging out with my friends! My favorite events are the ones where we camp.

If trying to claim one of the coveted Gold Cup Plates brought you to Circle City BMX for your first time you might have been surprised when you first saw the track layout.

With all of the uncertainty in event planning this year, it was not a huge surprise that the DK Bicycles North East Gold Cup Finals shifted locations somewhat last minute. We were very lucky to have it and at a great location, Akron BMX in Akron, Ohio. The Big Red Truck was last here for the 2018 North East Gold Cup Finals, and the track is located in a pretty incredible location.
