Nine in-a-row never felt so sweet for Celtic and the Scottish Premiership’s top goalscorer Odsonne Edouard

NEUFF D'AFFILEE!

“I’M absolutely delighted to win nine in-a-row,” said Odsonne Edouard in an exclusive interview with the Celtic View. “It’s been a great season for the team and for me, so I’m very happy. Without question, this team deserves to be champions.”

With 28 goals to his name in 45 appearances this campaign, Celtic’s French striker certainly deserves the league medal around his neck – his third in green and white since 2018 – and his contributions on the pitch are well reflected off it in the Paradise trophy room.

In his first title-winning season at Celtic Park, then on loan from Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain, Odsonne Edouard hit 11 goals in 29 outings. One of those goals was his matchwinner in a 3-2 win over Rangers at Ibrox. Two of those goals helped sink the Hoops’ city rivals in a 5-0 rout that secured championship seven of the current run.

In his second title-winning season at Celtic Park, his first following a permanent move to Glasgow’s East End, he hit 23 goals in 52 appearances – netting a series of crucial strikes, not least two in the Scottish Cup final to clinch the Treble Treble.

And in his third season at Celtic Park, a campaign cut short as a result of the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic, the 22-year-old Frenchman, who wears the number 22 on his shirt and shorts, became the Scottish Premiership’s top goalscorer with 22 league goals.
