It’s all coming up roses for Celtic’s French striker on his return to first-team football

WITH 39 games, 16 goals and six assists under his belt this season, Odsonne Edouard is enjoying an excellent campaign. Yet, despite his form and involvement, the Frenchman has also missed a collective two months of football through injury.

Now, back to full fitness and vying for a place in Brendan Rodgers’ starting XI, the 21-year-old forward is delighted to be back helping the Hoops towards their eighth consecutive league title.

His most recent and telling contribution came on Sunday as he netted twice in the 4-1 win over Motherwell, including a stunning 25-yard free-kick to restore Celtic’s two-goal lead at the time following the visitors’ controversial goal.

It was the seventh consecutive league win for Brendan Rodgers’ side, and their ninth domestic victory since returning from the winter break.

It has been an impressive display of form from the champions, which included a dramatic 1-0 win over Rugby Park the previous week courtesy of a last-gasp goal from Scott Brown. And although the Celtic captain missed Sunday’s win over Motherwell through suspension, he has proved to be an unlikely but popular goalscorer in recent weeks, both amongst his team-mates and the Celtic support.

And his experience and influence will be vital over the course of the next couple of months as the Hoops continue to push for further domestic honours.

Speaking to this week’s
