Debutants Win 12-Hour Champs

Gill and Skipper triumph at their first attempts

Both first-timers at the distance, Vicky Gill and Joe Skipper powered to victory in the National 12-Hour Championship in Norfolk on Sunday.

Skipper, the 31-year-old British Ironman champion from Norwich, was on track to break Adam Duggleby’s national competition record until a wrong turn ended his hopes.

And Drag2zero rider Gill, 38 and from Winchester, added the 12-hour title to the National 100-mile crown she secured last month with a strong performance on roads around Hingham.
