Paul Zizka is an international awardwinning mountain landscape and adventure photographer based in Banff, Canada.

An exclusive interview with PAUL ZIZKA

A prolific adventurer, Paul's journey to capture the underdocumented has taken him to all seven continents, as well as to each of Canada's provinces and territories.

Paul's images have been featured on countless book covers and various highly regarded publications, including National Geographic, Maclean's, Alpinist, the Huffington Post, The Guardian, Canadian Geographic, Islands, PhotoLife, and explore magazine.

Paul has three coffee-table photography books: Summits & Starlight: The Canadian Rockies, The Canadian Rockies: Rediscovered, and Aloft: Canadian Rockies Aerial Photography (to be released May 2021). A passionate teacher, he hosts workshops all over the world and a large online community for photographers through his company, OFFBEAT. Paul enjoys life in the mountains with his wife Meghan and their two daughters. It's a great honor to interview Paul, and we are very excited to get into a close chat with him.

BE RUTHLESS ABOUT WHAT YOU CHOOSE TO ACTUALLY EDIT. IF AN IMAGE DOES NOT GRAB YOU WITHIN A MILLISECOND, IT'S PROBABLY NOT WORTH PUTTING IT THROUGH POST-PROCESSING.

LENS MAGAZINE: Hello Paul, thank you for this interview; we are so amazed by your excellent shooting; please tell us a bit about yourself. What was your photography path during the years? Do you come from an artistic family?

BUTTERFLIES IN LOVE WITH FLOWERS

I sometimes think Chinese art is not fully appreciated in the West. I was exposed to it growing up in Australia, although my fascination was more with calligraphy.

From a Living Hell to Heaven on Earth: the Inhumanity and Humanity of Humans

In a remote area of western Wisconsin, dogs and cats who otherwise would have ended up on death row are given a reprieve. They can now live out their lives in peace and comfort and with companionship at Home for Life (HFL), which was not afforded them outside the sanctuary's gates.
