Tips For Shooting Commercial Car Photography

|June 2022
From automobiles to motorbikes, lighting considerations, angles, polarisation, space needs, assistance, and more, we'll reveal the top 10 automotive and vehicle photography techniques to help you get the finest results. Automobiles are technically difficult to film, but the effects may be breath-taking if done right. The technical features and lighting techniques for vehicles are really pretty comparable to the things you normally shoot. It's common to see mix of gloss and matte surfaces, as well as tricky reflective curves, on a much larger size. Although CGI is used in many contemporary automotive photos, there is always a demand for actual photography, particularly for older cars. You can discover the whole lectures in automotive photography courses on numerous platforms or schools, but we've included some of the best suggestions here as well if you want to give it a shot.
1. Focal length
This is actually more significant than you may think. The focal length determines the shooting distance and angle of vision, which impacts perspective, which means that the look of what you see changes as you move further away from the subject. The first step is to determine what focal length will give the desired shot. Will you shoot low, mid, or high above, and how will the distance from the car alter the apparent form of what you're seeing? For example, when observing an automobile from a few metres away, you may not be able to see both headlights, but as you walk farther away, the second headlight or other components of the vehicle become visible. Another factor to consider is the vehicle's weight, and by weight, how heavy it feels or how nimble it seems. When filming from a distance with a longer focal length lens, the car may appear overly bulky. Shooting too near with a wider angle lens might cause a car to appear bulging. Before shooting, experiment with different focal lengths to evaluate what works and what doesn't, and to acquire a sense for the optimal viewpoint.

2. Angle of view

It blends high fashion with real world grit, turning sidewalks into runways and everyday people into style subjects. This shift did not happen overnight. It grew from a mix of social media influence, shifting brand priorities, and a global appetite for authenticity.
