1. Focal length

This is actually more significant than you may think. The focal length determines the shooting distance and angle of vision, which impacts perspective, which means that the look of what you see changes as you move further away from the subject. The first step is to determine what focal length will give the desired shot. Will you shoot low, mid, or high above, and how will the distance from the car alter the apparent form of what you're seeing? For example, when observing an automobile from a few metres away, you may not be able to see both headlights, but as you walk farther away, the second headlight or other components of the vehicle become visible. Another factor to consider is the vehicle's weight, and by weight, how heavy it feels or how nimble it seems. When filming from a distance with a longer focal length lens, the car may appear overly bulky. Shooting too near with a wider angle lens might cause a car to appear bulging. Before shooting, experiment with different focal lengths to evaluate what works and what doesn't, and to acquire a sense for the optimal viewpoint.
