Tips To Capture Great Photos In The Dark

Photography means “drawing with light”, and that’s how the sensor in your camera works. Your image sensor is trying to capture the available light. And the less light there is, the worst the quality of the image is (unless you are doing it intentionally of course!). So what can you do when you are capturing images in the dark? Whether it is a dimly lit club or when you are out camping on the mountains, you can still get a nice shot when light is not your best friend any more. A mixture of knowing your basics and a few tips from pros can make any image pop, no matter how dim the light is.

Some of the best night photos are captured just after the sunset or before the night starts when the sky is not completely black. Capturing pictures during that time will show more colors and details in the image. It will also allow the photographer to use a little faster shutter speed which will result in a less blurry image.

Use high ISO

Use a high ISO if required. It is better to capture recognizable images of your subject which are grainy or noisy than to capture blurry photos. Though the image will lose its quality, still you can reduce the noise in post-processing software to an extent, but keep in mind that you cannot remove the blur!
