THE controversial Video Assistant Referee (VAR) system will be used when Plymouth Argyle play European champions Chelsea in their FA Cup fourth round tie at Stamford Bridge next month.
The League One club will have to equally share the cost of using VAR, which is £9,251 plus VAT, with Chelsea.
Once all match expenses have been paid for, the Pilgrims and Chelsea will each get 45 per cent of the gate receipts.
The remaining 10 per cent will go into a central fund which the Football Association uses to distribute as prize money for the competition.
Argyle have already earned £138,000 in prize money alone by progressing to the fourth round of the FA Cup.
