MICHAEL COOPER WANTS PLYMOUTH ARGYLE TO EMBRACE CHALLENGE OF MASSIVE GAME
CHRIS ERRINGTON
'PURE 100% EFFORT'

PLYMOUTH Argyle need 'pure 100 per cent effort from everyone' when they play their crucial season-ending game against Hull City at Home Park today, according to goalkeeper Michael Cooper.

Cooper also believes the relegation-threatened Pilgrims must embrace the huge importance of the match, otherwise they might not be 'in the right mindset to deal with the added atmosphere, the added pressure!

Argyle know a win against play-off hopefuls Hull will see them to safety. A draw or a defeat, though, will leave them at risk of being overtaken by Birmingham City, who are at home to Norwich City, and relegated to League One.

Cooper said: "I think it's healthy to treat it as what it is. I think if you don't you might not be in the right mindset to deal with the added atmosphere, the added pressure. Hull are going to come here and they need a win as well.

"I think if you treat it like 'any other game' you might be at a bit of a disadvantage. I think in the back of your mind knowing it is a massive game will help spur us on, but obviously not getting too carried away with the day and the occasion."

Argyle are one position and a point above the relegation zone after backto-back away defeats against Steven Schumacher's Stoke City (3-0) and Milwall (1-0).

Cooper said: "It has somehow boiled down to the last game and we know we need pure 100 per cent effort from everyone to try to get three points and get us over the line.
