Omicron cases found in city

A ‘VERY, very small number’ of cases of the Omicron variant of Covid-19 have been identified in Plymouth, the city’s director of public health has confirmed.

Plymouth health chief, Dr Ruth Harrell, has confirmed that cases of the latest variant have been discovered in Plymouth.

It comes just days after the Government held a press conference at Number 10 to say that ‘Plan B’ measures would be rolled out to prevent the rapid spread of the variant in the lead-up to Christmas.
