Noida Extension turns NCR's new CRIME HOTSPOT

In 3 months, 50 cases of murder, robbery, abduction, theft, carjacking and snatching rock the newly developed region

THOUSANDS of apartment dwellers took to the streets at Noida Extension on Sunday against the “deteriorating” law and order in the newly developed region. This was first protest of such a scale, ever since the area has been developed.

The protesters also demanded arrest of the murderers of Gaurav Chandel, a corporate employee, who was killed and robbed on the intervening night of Monday and Tuesday. His body was found barely three kilometers from his residence last week.

“We demand immediate arrest of the culprits and increased police presence in the area with round-the-clock patrol,” said Abhishek Kumar, president, New Era Flat Owners Welfare Association (NEFOWA), who joined others demanding justice for Chandel and against the police force.
