'Snooker gods' shining on Ronnie

THE ROCKET IS STILL THE CLASS ACT!

JUST days after Ronnie O'Sullivan's fellow 'Class of 1992' member John Higgins suggested the 20-somethings were taking over snooker, the Rocket fired to make yet more history.

O'Sullivan, 46, extended two records in ending a five-final losing streak, proving the doubters wrong by beating Neil Robertson 10-8 for a second World Grand Prix success.

The six-time world champion claimed a 38th ranking title after trailing 7-5, and the gap between his first in 1993 and the most recent one is a staggering 28 years and 21 days.

And afterwards the world No.3 admitted that only his devoted and raucous army of fans made him play on for two snookers at 4-3 down, a keyframe he went on to win in Coventry.
