Minister grilled over Tory MP in sex and drug scandal

A CABINET minister was today forced to defend MPs hiring their family members following allegations that the women accusing David Warburton of sexual harassment felt uncomfortable reporting it because his wife was in charge of human resources at his office.
Tory MP Mr Warburton had the party whip suspended yesterday after he was accused of sexual misconduct and cocaine abuse. Two former aides alleged he subjected them to unwanted sexual comments and sexual touching, The Sunday Times reported. Another woman, who met the Somerton and Frome MP through politics, claimed he had used cocaine at her home.
The former aides have referred their allegations to the Independent Complaints and Grievance Scheme, set up in 2019 in response to scandals. Both women said they felt uncomfortable addressing Mr Warburton’s alleged misconduct internally because his wife, Harriet, was overseeing HR.
