Furbank excited to ‘Front up' for Saints

After four successive victories interspersed by frustrating Covid cancellations, victory over Bath would see Saints hit the halfway point firmly in the play-off zone.

Last week’s backs-to-the-wall win at Exeter gave rise to title ambitions and Furbank insists his side are ready to dig-in hard once more to continue their run.

“(Director of rugby) Chris Boyd coined the phrase ‘Front-up February’ and we certainly did that last weekend, especially among the forwards,” Furbank told The Rugby Paper.

“It’s not often you go to Exeter and have a dominant set-piece and keep them from scoring when they’re in your 22 for as long as they were, but we made our tackles and it’s a huge pat on the back for all our forwards, as well as a good few of the backs.

PGP deal is nothing but a waste of time

I CAN’T help thinking that the new Professional Game Partnership (PGP) is nothing but a waste of time as I can’t see how it is going to make any difference to how the game operates or how it will actually help clubs keep players and reduce the financial strain they are under.
