NEWTON Abbot Spurs believe they have pulled off ‘a bit of a coup’ by signing Football League stalwart Luke Guttridge.
The Barnstaple-born midfielder played well over 500 professional games in a career that saw him feature for Torquay, Cambridge United, Southend, Leyton Orient, Colchester, Northampton, Aldershot, Luton, and Dagenham & Redbridge.
And now, at 38, he’s set for a challenge of a different kind – turning out for the Step 5 Devon club’s reserves.
Chairman Andy Feaver explained: “The new reserve team manager Lee Breslan is good mates with Luke, who is going to play as and when he can and also help with the youngsters. It’s a bit of a coup for the club.
