Bell chimes for the Hatters

NYAL BELL’S brace helped Stockport County come from behind against a much improved Chorley team previously unbeaten in the last four games.

Striker Bell fired a goal in each half as Festus Arthur and Tom Walker both joined him on the scoresheet after Alex Newby had given the Magpies a seventh-minute lead.

Delighted County boss Jim Gannon said: “We needed to be brave when we went one-nil down but we got a good goal and then we built upon that.

“The second half was just about maintaining our focus and keep doing what we were doing and trust that we’ve got a little bit more to add and that they might be de-energised if we kept at them.”

The Magpies got off to a dream start when Newby, seemingly with nothing on, he took a pot-shot from the edge of the area. It took a wicked deflection and looped over County keeper Ben Hinchliffe.
