Ace Paddy Madd For The Hatters

Madden, making his fourth appearance for County since his move from Fleetwood, struck the Hatters’ equaliser 12 minutes from time after Gavan Holohan had given Hartlepool the lead at the start of the second half.

But Dave Challinor’s Pools still went awaqy the happier having maintained their nine-point gap over Stockport, albeit having played three games more.

“You have to be pleased with a point,” Challinor said. “Before the game, coming to Stockport is always going to be a difficult game.

“It’s tinged with disappointment, when you take the lead and then concede in the manner that we did.”
