Tejashwi Prasad Yadav is all set to play a long innings in politics, having miserably failed to make his presence felt in his first endeavour: cricket. The 26-year-old second son of maverick politician Lalu Prasad Yadav, he does not appear to be a novice while dealing with the big responsibility of deputy chief minister, which comes with three important departments on his shoulders. The officers under him realise the youngest deputy CM of the country as astute as any other lawmaker in India. He gets praise and accolades even from unexpected quarters for his official performance. Says Shivanand Tiwary, ex-MP and veteran socialist leader, “His style of functioning has impressed me to such an extent that I can say without hesitation that he is the the real heir to Lalu Prasad Yadav”.

Also, when it comes to encountering the questions posed by journalists, the softspoken deputy CM visibly turns smarter. He answers the questions in such a way as if he is an incarnation of his father. His appetite for acquiring knowledge is not limited to what is brewing in the nation only, but also for political upheaval in European countries, what led to the resignation of the British Prime Minister or the presidential elections in the US. “I have realized that knowledge is power”, he tells Kanhaiya Bhelari.
