The M.Zuiko Digital ED 17mm f/1.2 PRO lens is a twin to the 45mm f/1.2 PRO and carries most of the features barring the focal length and optical elements. What surprises us is how Olympus has added the same price tag to both the lenses.
Design and Build Quality
The M.Zuiko Digital ED 17mm f/1.2 PRO is built sturdy with an aluminium alloy body and hermetic sealing across the entire lens to make it dust-proof, splash-proof, and freeze-proof. The lens is light and compact and balances nicely with OM-D bodies. It features a useful Lens function (L-Fn) button that can be customised as a shortcut button. The 17mm PRO has a wide focus ring and uses a Manual Focus Clutch mechanism to instantly shift the focus mode between Auto and Manual.
