A Wave Of Cliffs

Storm watching is something of a pastime in Cornwall - but for a coastal geomorphologist it is more a career choice.

A Wave Of Cliffs

LAST July we managed to organise our lives well enough to go back to the Port Eliot Festival near St Germans. As soon as we drove onto the estate our shoulders dropped and we fell into ‘chill’ mode. Even the selection of our camping pitch and negotiations about the orientation of our camper van were achieved without threatening divorce proceedings. In fact, such was the measure of our calm that our neighbour came straight over for a chat – normally our camp-making performance means that they spend the first 24 hours peeping at us from behind closed curtains.
