Whose home is it anyway? Should a designer’s aesthetic leaning overshadow his client’s preferences? Or should a client, having seen and liked a designer’s work, expect him to agree to something that goes against the latter’s grain? We can discuss this till the cows come home… Happily, there are some projects that showcase a beautiful balance of both aspects. And then, there are those rare instances in which the designer’s taste and the client’s palate are indistinguishable from each other; and the process of confluence itself cements a narrative that is unique, nuanced and beautiful. For PAN Design Studio founders Bhavya Parekh and Nirav Nirmal, it is the assignment they call HMK House that represents this immensely satisfying state of affairs.
