BMW recently introduced one of the most exciting electric production cars yet, the i8 Roadster

The BMW i8 Roadster is seriously eye-catching – what’s not to love about its beautifully sculpted lines and ‘butterfly’ doors, for example? And while there’s much to admire in terms of pure aesthetic appeal, the design of the car’s wedge-shaped body has functional purposes, too. The low, sloping roofline swoops downwards at the rear to (almost) meet the high wheel arches. And of course there’s a reason these two body parts don’t quite line up: the gap created between them allows for air to pass through, creating better aerodynamics.
