The Indo-German designer duo bring together their distinct design aesthetics to initiate a completely new conversation in design
After meeting at Fabrica, Communications & Research Centre in Italy in 2014, Pascal Hien and Nikita Bhate collaborated out of the curiosity to explore how culture, arts and tradition in India could translate into contemporary product design. The liaision led to an interesting conversation in design. Both their design legacies couldn’t have been more different — one comes from the intricate and layered look of Indian design sensibilities, while the other hails from the sparse and pared-down look that’s indicational of the German style of design. Both of their unique perspectives, one from the outside and the other from inside Indian culture, have shaped this ongoing dialogue.
