One of the last off the production line at Santa Monica, CA in early 1958, the DC-6B entered service with Cathay Pacific Airways as VR-HFK that spring. Four years later, it was sold to Norwegian operator Braathens SAFE and registered LN-SUB on 17 December 1962.
