BRINGING COLOURS TO LIFE

An Mtech in Computer Science, Pearlpreet Sekhon always had a passion for styling and fashion. She quit her job as an assistant professor at Chandigarh University to work on her dreams.

Her consistent efforts and dedication towards her passion lead her to bring her dreams to reality. Her label Pearl Sekhon is all about hard work and her belief in herself. She aspires to take it to different parts of the country in the near future. We talked to her about her journey of being a woman entrepreneur and how she feels women should believe in themselves and work hard to achieve their dream.

Why did you choose this line of profession for yourself? What was your inspiration?

When we see how many colours there are and how much they differ when put together or even alone, it inspired me to create something interesting with them so I went in with this line. My fondness for styling and fashion led me to being creative.

What helped you in being a successful entrepreneur?

I read somewhere, “never stand still; evolve with the times.” The way I have seen times and outfits change throughout the years, I always kept a keen eye on it. From seeing photos of my grandmothers and mother in pictures to my own suits, I learnt the variations and how the sense of style changed and implemented it in my designing. This was one of the main reasons my work was liked.

How important it is for our country to have women at the top corporate level jobs and why?
