For 30 years, Leon Parton’s only link to his roots was a newspaper cutting, but he always dreamed of reuniting with his birth family.

Leon, 46, who lives on the Wirral, was adopted as a baby, but his childhood was difficult.

‘My dad wasn’t a nice man. He was an alcoholic, he used to punch and slap and I never fought back because I was a little kid,’ he reveals.
