Prue Leith: Journey with My Daughter

Tuesday, C4 HD, 9p

The Great British Bake Off judge Prue Leith’s adopted daughter, Li-Da Kruger, was evacuated from Cambodia in 1974 as the brutal Khmer Rouge regime was taking over the country.

Leith has never doubted that she did the right thing in giving Li-Da a safe, happy childhood – but she now worries she may have inadvertently distanced her daughter from her cultural roots.

‘Her childhood was not at all Cambodian,’ says Leith. ‘We lived in the middle of the Cotswolds, we were an English family – and it was a very happy childhood.’
